How to convert a video to MP3

1. Drop your video into the box above or tap “choose a file”. 2. Keep MP3 selected, or pick WAV for lossless editing or M4A for smaller files on Apple devices. 3. Press “Extract audio” and download the result.

Which format should I pick?

MP3 at 192 kbps plays everywhere and is the best default for podcasts, music practice or voice notes. WAV keeps every sample uncompressed, which is ideal if you will edit the audio in a DAW. M4A (AAC) is the most compact; when your video already contains AAC audio, GustKit copies it without re-encoding, so it is instant and lossless.

Why no upload matters

Online converters usually send your video to a server, which is slow for big files and risky for private recordings. GustKit loads FFmpeg into the page once, then works offline-capable on your own device.

Frequently asked questions

Does converting reduce quality?

Audio is re-encoded only for MP3 and WAV output. For MP3 we use a 192 kbps constant bitrate, which is transparent for speech and most music.

Can I convert videos I downloaded from social networks?

Only convert videos you own or have the right to use. GustKit does not download from YouTube or other sites.

Why is the first conversion slower?

The first run downloads the FFmpeg WebAssembly engine (~30 MB). Your browser caches it for later visits.
