How to crop a PDF
1. Drop the PDF. The first page is drawn in this tab with PDF.js. 2. Drag the frame, or drag a corner. Choose Square or 16:9 if the shape must stay fixed. 3. Leave “Every page” on, or switch to the first page only. 4. Press “Crop PDF” and download.
The frame is a share of the page, not a fixed number of inches. A square frame on a portrait page stays a square share on a landscape page too.
The page gets smaller, the words stay
GustKit sets the page box with pdf-lib. Text inside the frame stays selectable. Text outside the frame is no longer on the page. This is not a photo of the page: use PDF to JPG when you need a picture, then Crop image.
Margins, scans and mixed sizes
Use this to drop a wide scanner margin or to cut a slide deck down to the content. Pages can differ in size. Each one loses the same share of its own width and height. A password-protected PDF has to be unlocked first.
How to check the crop before you send it
1. Open the download and look at the first page and the last page. 2. If a header was cut off, run again with a taller frame. 3. If only the cover needed the trim, choose First page only and keep the rest.
The frame is a share of each page. Mixed page sizes do not share a ruler measurement. Text that stays inside the frame can still be selected. Unlock a password-protected file first.
