Your file never leaves your device. Processed locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

This page only accepts MP3 and saves WAV.

How to convert MP3 to WAV

1. Drop one MP3. WAV, M4A and video are refused on this page. 2. Press “Convert to WAV” and wait for the download. 3. Open the WAV in the editor or the form that asked for it.

The first visit downloads FFmpeg into this tab. Later visits reuse the browser cache. You can disconnect after that download finishes.

What the WAV contains

GustKit decodes the MP3 and writes 16-bit PCM. A WAV is larger than the MP3 because it does not compress. It does not invent detail the MP3 already threw away. Use it when the next tool wants an uncompressed file, not when you hope to improve a noisy recording.

Same engine as the audio converter

There is no second converter. This URL only fixes the pair so the options stay short. For M4A, OPUS, OGG or a video soundtrack, use the audio converter or Video to MP3. To keep only part of the song, trim first and come back.

How to check the WAV before you edit

1. Play the start and a loud part of the download. 2. Confirm the file ends in .wav and opens in the editor that rejected the MP3. 3. Keep the MP3 if you still need a small copy to send.

A WAV from an MP3 is uncompressed, not restored. If the MP3 already sounded dull, the WAV will too. Trim audio is the page when you only need a few seconds.

Frequently asked questions

Will WAV sound better than the MP3?

No. Decoding cannot restore frequencies the MP3 encoder removed. The WAV is the same sound in a file editors accept.

Why is the download so much bigger?

WAV stores every sample. A five-minute song can jump from a few megabytes to about 50 MB. That is normal.

Can I drop several MP3s?

This page takes one file at a time. Download, then drop the next one.

Is the MP3 uploaded?

No. FFmpeg runs in this tab.

The editor still refuses the file. What now?

Make sure you opened the download, not the original MP3. The name ends in .wav.

Can I turn the WAV back into MP3 here?

Not on this page. Open WAV to MP3 and drop the download there.
