How to extract images from a PDF
1. Drop the PDF. 2. Leave Original selected if you want each JPEG to stay a JPEG. Choose JPG or PNG only when every file must be the same type. 3. Press “Extract images”. 4. Download the file, or a ZIP when there are several.
This reads the image objects inside the PDF. It does not photograph the page. A report made of text, with no photos, produces nothing to save. Use PDF to JPG for a picture of each page.
What you get back
Photos placed in the file are the usual case: a camera JPEG inside a PDF comes back as that JPEG. Drawings stored as raw pixels come back as PNG. Very small marks, such as bullets, are skipped when a real photo is present.
What this page does not do
It does not OCR the words, and it does not rebuild a page that was scanned as one big picture into separate objects that were never separate. A scan of a whole page is one image, and that image is what you get. Nothing is uploaded.
How to tell a photo from a page render
1. If you need the picture that was placed in the PDF, use this page and leave Original on. 2. If you need a picture of the whole page, including text, use PDF to JPG. 3. Open one download and check that the subject is the photo, not a screenshot of the page.
A scanner often stores each page as one JPEG. You will get that JPEG, which may be the whole page. Vector charts and plain text do not become image files.
