How to extract the soundtrack
1. Drop a video you already have. Pictures and audio-only files are refused here. 2. Leave MP3, or choose WAV for an editor and M4A when the clip already has AAC. 3. Press “Extract audio” and play the download.
MP3 and WAV are encoded in this tab. M4A tries to copy the AAC track first, which is quick, and encodes only if that copy fails.
What this page is for
Video to MP3 starts on MP3 and is the page to share when the listener expects that format. This page treats MP3, M4A and WAV as equal choices. Mute video keeps the picture and drops the sound.
The video stays in this tab
The first visit downloads FFmpeg. Later visits reuse the browser cache. Close the tab and the file is gone. GustKit does not fetch video from a link.
How to check the soundtrack before you delete the video
1. Play the download from the start and from a later point. 2. If the file is larger than you need and the video had AAC, run again as M4A. 3. Keep the video until the new file is the one you will send.
WAV is the large one, for an editor. MP3 at 192 kbps is the one that plays in the most places. This page does not trim. Nothing is uploaded.
