How to pad an image or resize the canvas
1. Drop one photo or a batch. Audio and PDF files are refused here. 2. Leave Set a size for a square, a story or a post, or switch to Add equal padding when you only want a margin. 3. Pick where the photo sits and the color of the empty space. 4. Press “Pad image” and open the download.
The photo is scaled down only when it does not fit. Leave “Never enlarge smaller images” on when a small picture should stay sharp and the extra space should be padding. Transparent empty space needs PNG or WebP. JPG has no clear pixels, so that space becomes white.
This is not resize, and it is not a border
Resize image changes the pixel size of the photo itself. If you ask for 1080 by 1080 and keep the ratio, the download is the scaled photo, not a square with bars. This page keeps the canvas at the size you asked for and puts the photo inside it.
Add border paints a frame of one width around the picture. Use that when you want a thin colored edge. Use this page when the next step needs a square, a story frame, or a margin of empty space.
The picture stays in this tab
The browser canvas builds the new bitmap and encodes the file. Camera location is not copied. Close the tab and the photo is gone. There is no account and no upload step.
How to check the canvas before you post it
1. Open the download and read the pixel size in the file info. A square preset is 1080 by 1080. A story preset is 1080 by 1920. 2. If the photo looks cropped, you are on Resize or Crop. Come back here: this page fits the whole photo inside the canvas. 3. Turn off Never enlarge only when a small picture should grow.
Equal padding does not scale the photo. It adds the same number of pixels on every side. A story frame leaves bands when the photo is not already that shape. Nothing is uploaded.
