How to reverse a short GIF
1. Drop one GIF you already have. Video, photos and audio are refused here. 2. Read the note: only a short animation is accepted, because every frame is held in this tab before it can play backwards. 3. Press “Reverse GIF” and play the download from the start.
A two-step animation that ends on a different color comes back starting on that last color. GustKit reverses the frames with FFmpeg and keeps the file a GIF. The length stays about the same. Keep the original until the backwards version is the one you wanted.
A reversed GIF is not a reversed video
Reverse video turns a short clip around and saves an MP4, picture and sound together. This page takes a GIF only and saves a GIF. Video to GIF makes a GIF from a clip and does not flip the order. GIF to MP4 turns the animation into video and also leaves the order as it is.
The GIF stays in this tab
The first visit downloads FFmpeg. Later visits reuse the browser cache. A long animation is refused, because reverse holds each decoded frame. GustKit does not fetch a GIF from a link.
How to check the backwards GIF before you post it
1. Play the download from the start. The last moment of the original should appear first. 2. If the motion still faces forward, you opened the original. Download again. 3. Keep the original until the backwards version is the one you wanted.
The result stays a GIF. Reverse video saves an MP4. Video to GIF builds a GIF from a clip and does not flip the order. A long animation is refused. Nothing is uploaded.
