How to fit a PDF to a paper size
1. Drop one PDF you already have. Pictures and audio are refused here. 2. Leave A4, or pick US Letter. Leave Portrait, or pick Landscape when the page should be wider than it is tall. 3. Press “Fit PDF” and open the download.
GustKit scales each page with pdf-lib in this tab so the whole page fits inside the paper. A page that is already smaller gets a margin. A page that is larger shrinks. The text is not redrawn as a picture, so you can still select it. Crop PDF cuts a region away. This page keeps every part of the page.
Fitting a page is not the same as cropping it
Crop PDF throws away the part outside the frame you drag. This page only changes the paper size and leaves the content whole. Compress PDF tries to make the file smaller and does not pick A4 or Letter. Rotate PDF turns a page. It does not choose a paper size.
The PDF stays in this tab
pdf-lib runs in this tab. Close the tab and the file is gone. A password-protected PDF has to be unlocked first. GustKit does not fetch a PDF from a link.
How to check the paper size before you print
1. Open the download in a PDF reader and look at the page size. A4 is about 210 by 297 mm. US Letter is 8.5 by 11 inches. 2. Select a sentence. It should still highlight. 3. If a page gained empty bands, that is the margin that kept the shape. Keep the original until the print preview looks right.
Crop PDF throws away a region. This page keeps the whole page and changes the paper. Nothing is uploaded.
