How to change GIF speed
1. Drop one GIF you already have. Video and audio files are refused here. 2. Leave 2x, or pick 0.5x to slow it down or 4x to make it much faster. 3. Press “Change GIF speed” and play the download from the start.
GustKit runs FFmpeg setpts in this tab and re-encodes the GIF. 2x plays in about half the time. 0.5x plays in about twice the time. The frames stay in the same order. Reverse GIF flips that order and keeps the length. A long animation is refused.
GIF speed is not video speed
Change video speed uses atempo and setpts on an MP4 and can keep a soundtrack. This page only changes a GIF, which has no audio track. Video to GIF builds a GIF from a clip and does not offer 0.5x, 2x or 4x.
The GIF stays in this tab
The first visit downloads FFmpeg. Later visits reuse the browser cache. An animation longer than the limit on the page is refused, because every frame is re-encoded here. GustKit does not fetch a GIF from a link.
How to check the new timing before you post the GIF
1. Play the download from the start. 2x should finish in about half the time. 0.5x should take about twice as long. 2. The first moment of the original should still be first. If the end comes first, you opened Reverse GIF. 3. Keep the original until the pace is the one you wanted.
Change video speed is for an MP4 and can keep a soundtrack. This page only changes a GIF. The frames stay in order. Nothing is uploaded.
