How to change the volume of a short video
1. Drop one video you already have. Audio-only files and GIFs are refused here. 2. Leave 150%, or pick a quieter or louder step. Choose Custom when you need a percent between 10 and 400. 3. Press “Change video volume” and play the download.
GustKit runs the FFmpeg volume filter in this tab and re-encodes the soundtrack. The picture is copied when the container allows it, so the frames are not redrawn. A clip with no soundtrack is refused, because there is nothing to turn up. Change volume does the same job for an audio file. Mute video can strip the track or set it to zero.
Louder is not the same as normalized
Normalize audio aims at a loudness target for speech or music and takes an audio file. This page multiplies the level you already have. 50% is about half as loud. 200% is about twice as loud. A clip longer than the limit on the page is refused, because the soundtrack is re-encoded here.
The video stays in this tab
The first visit downloads FFmpeg. Later visits reuse the browser cache. GustKit does not fetch a video from a link. Close the tab and the file is gone.
How to check the new level before you replace the clip
1. Play the download next to the original. 50% should sit lower. 200% should sit higher. 2. The picture and the length should look the same. 3. Keep the original until the level is the one you wanted.
Change volume does this for an audio file. Mute video can remove the track. This page only changes the soundtrack of a short video. Nothing is uploaded.
